Worship is the reverential response of redeemed humanity to the majesty and grace of God. Early expressions of Christian worship included sitting under Bible teaching, breaking bread, giving offerings, singing songs, and experiencing the felt presence of the Holy Spirit (see Acts 2:42; 1 Cor 16:1–2; Eph 5:19; Gal 3:1–5). Worship encompasses the entirety of one’s life lived in obedience to God (Rom 12:1–2). Every act of obedience to Christ, even what we might consider to be the most mundane of tasks, when done to his glory, is an act of worship (see Col 3:17).
Practical Steps I can take:
- Prioritise Sunday Services for myself and family
- Become familiar with good Christian songs and hymns
- Reassess whether my daily tasks are truly being done to the glory of God
